Friends keep sending messages about the snowfall and colors in the mountains. I should still be there!! But since I am not, and since I did not keep last year's blog up-to-date, I will post a few pictures from last year's fall color show:

Tuesday, September 19, 2017 UPDATE
The smoke was bothering Jim's asthma in Yellowstone & we were looking for a different place to go. Then, Hurricane Irma got her game on and we thought we should head SE to position ourselves closer to home. What a trip! We left Montana & drove back through the park to southern Wyoming, spending the first night in Casper, WY. Then down to Denver, Colorado and east thru Kansas and Missouri where we turned south, dipped into Tennessee and into Mississippi. We spent one night in Abilene, Kansas, birthplace of President Eisenhower. Had one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had in a sports bar there (the only restaurant that was open). Two nights we were not able to find campgrounds with vacancies and ended up sleeping in rest areas with the Semi Truckers. One of those nights, there was not even a parking place & we shut down for the night in the travel lane of the rest stop. Thankfully, it was cool and we had no need to run the generator for A/C. We hung out in Southaven, MS for a couple of nights to see what was going on in FL with the storm.
Our neighborhood had street flooding, but I am not aware of any homes having water inside.
The gate into the neighborhood:
We had no damage to our home & were only without electricity for about 24 hours.
The kids all had electricity out longer. They had damage to their patio/pool screens. Deb & Mandy had fences down from fallen trees and Mandy had storage shed damage. All had lots of tree limbs to clean up. We were so blessed!
While in Mississippi, Jingles had a much needed shower.
Since everybody was okay from Irma and we were so close to Red Bay, Alabama,
we decided to pop into the birthplace of our coach and have a few repairs done.
This is our current view - and their are more rows behind us.
Surprisingly, they are getting to us right away.
Shouldn't be here more than 3 or 4 days; not counting the weekend!
Sunday, we took a drive to Tupelo. On the way back, we saw a long, long, long
line of pickups, many towing boats with blue flashing lights. They were headed west from Alabama going into Mississippi. We assumed they are going to Texas:
And I just have no words for this house being built not too far from Red Bay.
Not the typical home you find around here.

Wednesday, September 6, 2017 - Yellowstone Park
We took a ride thru Yellowstone on the north loop today. Still hazy from nearby wildfire smoke. Just not seeing many animals - well except for those driving cars. It's very crowded. We thought there would not be so many people here in September. We were wrong.
September 4-5, 2017 Hwy to Yellowstone
Just some random shots from our days on the highway thru the Grand Tetons to Yellowstone. It's hazy from smoke.
Jingles decided when we left Boulder, Wyoming that she was reclaiming her favorite seat.
Did not want to budge.
We pulled off here for lunch:

Can't go thru Jackson without seeing the arches made of antlers:
Way too much evidence of previous fires in the Tetons & Yellowstone:

Saturday, Sunday, September 2-3, 2017 HEADED TO YELLOWSTONE
We are taking the scenic route north to Yellowstone. It has been a narrow, curvy couple of days - and no internet. Skies are very hazy. We suspect it's smoke from some of the neighboring wildfires, but we do not smell smoke. Tonight we are in the little town of Boulder, Wyoming.
Since Jingles had to relinquish her favorite viewing spot aka
the driver's seat, her new favorite place is standing in
front of an A/C vent watching out the window:
