Tuesday, September 19, 2017 UPDATE

The smoke was bothering Jim's asthma in Yellowstone & we were looking for a different place to go.  Then, Hurricane Irma got her game on and we thought we should head SE to position ourselves closer to home.  What a trip!  We left Montana & drove back through the park to southern Wyoming, spending the first night in Casper, WY.  Then down to Denver, Colorado and east thru Kansas and Missouri where we turned south, dipped into  Tennessee and into Mississippi.  We spent one night in Abilene, Kansas, birthplace of President Eisenhower.  Had one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had in a sports bar there (the only restaurant that was open).  Two nights we were not able to find campgrounds with vacancies and ended up sleeping in rest areas with the Semi Truckers.  One of those nights, there was not even a parking place & we shut down for the night in the travel lane of the rest stop.  Thankfully, it was cool and we had no need to run the generator for A/C.  We hung out in Southaven, MS for a couple of nights to see what was going on in FL with the storm.
Our neighborhood had street flooding, but I am not aware of any homes having water inside.
The gate into the neighborhood:
We had no damage to our home & were only without electricity for about 24 hours.
The kids all had electricity out longer.  They had damage to their patio/pool screens.  Deb & Mandy had fences down from fallen trees and Mandy had storage shed damage.  All had lots of tree limbs to clean up.  We were so blessed!

While in Mississippi, Jingles had a much needed shower.

Since everybody was okay from Irma and we were so close to Red Bay, Alabama,
we decided to pop into the birthplace of our coach and have a few repairs done.
This is our current view - and their are more rows behind us.
Surprisingly, they are getting to us right away.
Shouldn't be here more than 3 or 4 days; not counting the weekend!

Sunday, we took a drive to Tupelo.  On the way back, we saw a long, long, long
line of pickups, many towing boats with blue flashing lights.  They were headed west from Alabama going into Mississippi.  We assumed they are going to Texas:
And I just have no words for this house being built not too far from Red Bay.
Not the typical home you find around here.
