Friday, August 4, 2017 - MAGGIE GULCH & MAMA and BABY MOOSE

We headed to Maggie Gulch this morning so Sig could see the wildflowers.  She had to work last Friday and was in need of a Fun Friday.  There was a total of four Jeeps hoping to beat the weather - we didn't do a very good of that.

Reminder:  You can click on pictures to see enlarged version.

But first a shot of the SE sky last night:
The trail runs along side Middle Mountain and Maggie Creek

Unfortunately, the wildflowers have peaked and were not as good as last week.
Still a few left:

Loud thunder sent us back inside the Jeeps and headed down.
Rain got pretty heavy and it even sleeted on us.
(Heard there was pretty significant snow on Monarch Pass today.)

But the highlight of the day was  Sig's favorite animal,
a mama moose & her baby spotted on the main drag back to town:
Baby was real close to mama until she got out into the pond.
It was next to impossible to get a picture of them together in the water.
Those white streaks against her coat is the heavy rainfall:

Baby was afraid of the thunder.
